Duquesne's football completed the 2009 non-conference schedule Saturday with a 34-17 loss to Dayton at Welcome Stadium in Ohio. Senior Kevin Rombach entered the game late in the fourth quarter with Dukes trailing by 14. The opportunity for a tying touchdown with less than 10 seconds to go from the Flyers' 38 ended with a fourth down sack.   Full Story

Duquesne didn't have things going their way Saturday. Mark Troyan missed two straight first half field goal attempts. The offense only gained 22 yards in the third quarter. Then, things changed big time with DU scoring 14 unanswered points for their second win of the season.   Full Story

This past weekend, playing at home wasn't the advantage one would expect for the FCS mid-major teams. All games were intra-league, except for independent Stony Brook which took on an ex-NEC foe, Albany. Looks like there will be movement in the TSN poll, but after last week -- no predictions here. Duquesne's football team moved up one spot in this week's Sports Network Division I-AA Mid-Major Poll, as it did in Sunday's Football Gazette rankings. There's a significant difference - the upward move in the TSN poll is to 7th; DU is now 5th in the Gazette poll.   Full Story

The University of Dayton football team has been ranked #2 by the Sports Network in the 1-AA Mid-Major poll. The flyers will face 5 ranked teams this year including the season finale against the San Diego Toreros who happen to be ranked #1 in the same preseason poll.   Full Story
