Dukes Host Robert Morris Saturday

Duquesne (1-3, 0-1), coming off a 24-17 non-conference loss at Dayton, returns home for the first time since Sept. 5 to face Robert Morris (0-4, 0-1) in a Northeast Conference match-up on Saturday, Oct. 3. The game is part of Homecoming Weekend festivities at Duquesne.   Full Story

Duquesne's football completed the 2009 non-conference schedule Saturday with a 34-17 loss to Dayton at Welcome Stadium in Ohio. Senior Kevin Rombach entered the game late in the fourth quarter with Dukes trailing by 14. The opportunity for a tying touchdown with less than 10 seconds to go from the Flyers' 38 ended with a fourth down sack.   Full Story

This past weekend, playing at home wasn't the advantage one would expect for the FCS mid-major teams. All games were intra-league, except for independent Stony Brook which took on an ex-NEC foe, Albany. Looks like there will be movement in the TSN poll, but after last week -- no predictions here. Monday, the Sports Network announced that the University of San Diego, via their 47-40 victory against Morehead State in the Pioneer Football League Championship Saturday, wins the 2005 Sports Network Cup, to be presented on Dec. 15th, on the eve of the I-AA championship game in Chattanooga, TN.   Full Story
