A's Lean Left With First September Call-Ups

The Oakland A's added some left-handed reinforcements to their pitching staff on the first day of September call-ups. Oakland announced on Tuesday that they had recalled Jerry Blevins and Dana Eveland and purchased the contract of Brad Kilby.   Full Story

The Oakland A's pitching staff, taxed heavily by a 15-inning marathon game on Sunday, received a boost on Monday with the addition of two relatively fresh arms: right-hander Sean Gallagher and left-hander Jerry Blevins. After three seasons flying under the radar in the Oakland A’s system, right-hander Jeff Gray established himself as a prospect by leading A’s minor league relievers in saves in 2007.
