Brian Gregory announced today that Anthony Solomon will replace Bob Beyer who left the Dayton staff in June to take an assistant coaching job in the NBA with the Orlando Magic.

Anthony Solomon, most recently the head coach at St. Bonaventure University in Olean, New York, brings veteran leadership and experience to the Flyers’ staff. Coach Solomon’s experience and understanding with the Atlantic 10 Conference makes him a great fit for the Flyers.

Coach Solomon’s nineteen year tenure in college basketball included six years in the ACC followed by three years in the Big East with Notre Dame. During his three seasons with Mike Brey at Notre Dame, Solomon helped lead the Fighting Irish to an NCAA appearance each season, including a Sweet 16 run in 2003.

According to Coach Brey, “He’s (Coach Solomon) been a huge part of our success. He’s hungry, well-connected and, most importantly, well-respected.”

Congratulations to Brian Gregory and the Dayton Flyers for picking up a great addition to their veteran coaching staff. To Anthony Solomon, congratulations and welcome to the Flyer family.
