Posted Jan 6, 2007

6’2 Combo Guard Phillip “Mickey” Perry has decided to transfer to the University of Dayton Flyers and will begin classes Monday, January 8th. Perry was a player that Wisconsin signed a few years ago and was expecting big things out of the guard from Provisio East High School.

Coach Gregory and the Dayton Flyers are getting a player who will have an immediate impact on the team when he suits up next year for the team. Mickey was known as a sharpshooter in High School but just could not fit in with the half court minded Badgers out of Wisconsin.

Mickey played in 7 games this year after red shirting last year for the Badgers. He averaged 1.0 point a game and .04 rebounds a game in just 3 minutes of playing time a game. He also had a game high 5 points in 9 minutes against the Southern Jaguars earlier this year.

This off-season, Perry averaged 7.2 points per game and shot 60 percent during the Badgers' five-game tour of Italy.

Mickey Perry will be able to suit up for the Dayton Flyers when the 1st Semester ends during the 2007 – 2008 season. Mickey is supposed to begin classes this Monday and start practicing with his new team.
