Coach Gregory and the Dayton Flyers are off to a big start for the 2008 recruiting class. Josh Benson has set a press conference for 3:00pm Wednesday November 1st at Dunbar High School and all indications are that he will verbal to the University of Dayton.

The 6’9 Dunbar product will be the first player to verbal to the Dayton Flyers for the 2008 class and the second local recruit to stay home in the last two years. He will join Trotwood Madison recruit Chris Wright and stay home to play his college basketball.

Josh Benson really came onto the scene with solid play this past July at the Kentucky Hoopfest in Louisville, Kentucky. This is what Scout.com National Recruiting Analyst Dave Telep wrote about Josh at the Kentucky Hoopfest. “Joshua Benson is someone high majors should definitely keep tabs on. He’s extremely long, which helps him block shots and get some dunks inside. But the best part of his game, today, was when he faced up and knocked down jumpers, which he did at least five times in the two games I watched.”

The Flyers have 5 Scholarships for the 2008 recruiting class and this will be an incredible start for Coach Gregory and his staff as they continue to show that they are hot on the trail of every recruit that they feel will help take this Dayton team to the next level.
